Bullets

Bullets

Postby jrolinc » Fri Mar 19, 2010 8:21 am

Hi Mina,

I am having trouble with the Bullets not indenting properly.
I haven't dug into it too much, but I'm guessing an adjustment in the StyleSheet someplace should fix it.

Here is the Blog (my church)...
http://www.metrocrest.org/blog

You can see a Post on Sept 1 2009 where the bullets aren't correct.
If you could let me know where I need to change things, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

That's strange. Can you tell me how you went about creating that list? For instance, on my test site I wrapped each line in the <li></li> tags then went back and wrapped each line in the <ul></ul> tags and it's shows fine.

I've checked the code for the Post...it has the same as you mentioned...<ul> tags around the <li> tags for the bullet points.

I'm not sure why the bullets are falling on or outside the left section.
Any additional thoughts, suggestions?

Is all your content also wrapped in the <p></p> tags? I don't know if that has anything to do with it as I'm truly stumped and trying everything I can think of.

I'm thinking it may just need a ul and/or an li style setup in the Container style?

What do you think about that?
I see ul and li styles for the sidebars, but nothing (unless I'm missing it someplace) for the #container style.

It's possible that will help. As I mentioned the lists are posting correctly for me so I'm not sure what's going on. Have you tried lists in a new post to see if it still happens and is maybe a glitch?

But if you want to try adding some code for it I would do it for #container but for .entry. Try adding this code and adjusting the margin settings as needed (1st value is "top", 2nd value is "right", 3rd value is "bottom" and 4th value is "left").
  Code:
.entry ul li { margin: 0 0 0 0; }

I can't really test this out as I'm not able to replicate the problem. Let me know how it goes.

Mina,

I've tried just about any/every setting I could think of.
I just did a new post, with bullets and numbers, and both show up with the bullets/numbers showing up to the extreme left border.

I put in the .entry you showed, but it made absolutely no difference, no matter what I changed the left margin to.

I think I may disable all of the plugins, just to see if there may be some plugin that may be affecting this.
Everything else works as it should.
If I can't get this working, I'll have to find a different Theme to apply.

Try the plugins for sure, they can sometimes cause some really weird things. I've since checked this theme on several different setups and no one is showing a problem so it seems like it has to be something wonky on your end.

Hi Mina,

Ok, I should have thought of this earlier...

It is the WordPress plugin that allows a Google Calendar.
Here is the link to the Plugin page (in case you wanted to take a look at it):http://code.google.com/p/wpng-calendar/

Once I disabled that, the bullets/number lists adjusted back fine.
