turn off features

I really love the theme but want to turn off lots of the features to make it more like a website.
I want to disable the items in the left column (pages, ctagories etc,)
Actually I could turn off the left column altogether whtich would work.

Also how do I turn off the calendar, Tags, Subscribe ....all in the right column?

How do I turn off the "leave a comment box" that appears at the bottom of a page?

1) Go into all the php files and remove any trace of <?php include('left_sidebar.php');?>.

2) Add the widgets you want to use and the defaults will go away.

3) Turn off the comment feature.
